FOMO stands for Fear Of Missing Out.
Designed for mobile iOS, it’s a concept social media event-finding app to help you stay updated on upcoming events
Problem Statement: With all of the various events that happen around us, it is always possible to be active within the community even though it might not seem simple. Facebook is often used to let friends know about upcoming events that might interest them, although Facebook itself is not solely focused on this aspect. FOMO is made to allow users to explore events around them and to search for events within their specified criteria.

Process and Validation
Requirements
I worked with a team of 4 to build this app from the ground up. Some of initial process included outlining user requirements, by first gathering qualitative and quantitative data on our target users. We were looking to gather data on young students and professionals who are active in the community and enjoy going to events. We then developed personas to specify our target user population.
Design and Heuristic Evaluation
As we started to get a better feel for what our app should encompass in terms of foundation, we began developing mock-ups of possible designs, through sketches and storyboards. We did a heuristic evaluation of our mock-up, testing it against Nielsen & Norman’s heuristics for mobile interfaces.
We then moved on to creating low and then high fidelity prototypes. In order to properly test our app, we designed extensive protocol for conducting formative usability testing, and tested with 5 users. The feedback was incorporated into the design and involved changes to screen flows, icons, and on-screen element interactions.
The scenarios that this prototype is designed for include the following:
1. User searches for the Taste of the Danforth and posts about the event, also sharing to Facebook
2. User searches for nearby social events to their filtered specifications
